@Thedodogos I can see your point, but once again I disagree with you, yeah its tru that the precursor of rollplaying games is D&D, but the precursors of RPGs in the videogames are the japanese series FF and Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior in US). The fact that the stories in jap RPGs are linear (its true i admit it), does not mean that you dont make choices at all, you choose what weapons to use, what clothes to wear, what abilities to have, and every choice you make has a consecuence

@Thedodogos i agree.japanese rpg´s´dont have good story in them. buy masseffect2, kotor if you wanna rpg with good background story i mean theres 1 thing in kotor´s story

which no one can expect...too human has good story, but it starts soon to repeat it self, whitch is downside on hack&slash gametypes.

@snakegeorgehs To clarify, RPG is Rollplaying game the name should speak for itself.

In a RPG you play a character and with this character you make choices that ether affects you or the story.

In a sense you ARE the character, your actions is heres.

A Excellent example of RPG is the pen and paper is (were it all began) Dungeons and Dragons.

I think you should try pen and paper RPG.

Try Vampire the masquerade.

@snakegeorgehs I never said that Final fantasy are bad games. What i was saying is that (As an example) Final Fantasy dont have anything to do with rollplaying, as you said yourself " making the player feel like he is being part of a beautiful novel in which he is the protagonist." their is no rollplaying in that on the players behalf. What am am trying to say is that Japanese RPG dont have any RPG in them.

@Thedodogos Final Fantasy not "good"? Oh my god what kind of blasphemy are u saying?? well I dont wanna judge u first of all would u tell me why did u say that???? For me Final Fantasy series are the best RPGs ever, FF marked the way forward for all RPGs, why??? cuz of the story, not only the main story, but also the characters stories, the battle system, and making the player feel like he is being part of a beautiful novel in which he is the protagonist.
