The west gives billions of pounds for poorer countries to develop. We do do a tremendous amount for the poorer countries.
The problems are that their countries are corrupt and their government piss away the money for themselves.
Very selfish but the UK does do a lot. The real problem is governments of the countries they come from.

And the reason they are coming here, is because the UK gives them the best chance of their asylum claim being heard. That is not to say the UK is "soft", as certain rightwing groups love to spout, it is purely all other countries immigration policies are so terrible they don't stand a chance at even receiving a fair hearing.
That is not saying the UK has a "soft" immigration policy, its just the best these people have, and that is not saying much.

Refugees rarely get benefits. The hundreds I met here and abroad all want the chance to work, but our immigration system does not allow it.
Health care is an international human right. It is illegal to deny anyone medical care.

If you're going to make comments like that, lets see the facts behind your opinion.
If you are really concerned, like I am, about how the UK treats our old people, don't point your anger at others in desperate situations, follow the money trail. Who profits and who privatised the system.
