No the majority of people who buy macs are computer illiterate. That is why they overpay a computer 2X over that can't be upgraded and use a 1 button mouse.

Actually most of the Mac users & indeed Linux users i've met are more than computer literate, & know their way around Windows extremely well, they just prefer a different OS & aren't really into installing pretty flashing lights on their "rigs" & boasting about their 'Specs" online as if anyone really cares :)

Apply hardly "makes" the hardware. The processor is intel and the gpu is either nvidia or AMD. The northbridges and southbridges are technically carbon-copies of PC motherboard OEMs.

This is all thanks to the 07 intel transition.
