King of the Fairies

This is no master peice. Everything is imrpovision bar synth and choir, so it's a bit messy. I rushed it really hence why the whistle is actually fake, and not my own chieftan low D... Em, I basically wanted to play this reel with my own memories, places and feelings. I hope to get you more of my traditional music up sometime in the future.

A special thank you, to Elliot Newman for playing Guitar on the spot without having a clue what the song was.

I took the picture of what we locals call the Druid's Alter, its a mesolithic portal tomb just up the road from me.

Forgive me for quibbling, but it's a barndance not a reel. It's also a good follow -on to The Rights of Man (hornpipe), both work on a low D

@labhrainn - that's fine yea :) I've never heard it being called a barndance, only hornpipe and reel. What makes it a barndance, what's different? Isn't it just the way you chose to play it?

They are all common time but they are all different dances with their own rythms. So, yes, I suppose it is the way you play them. When I learnt The Wind that Shakes the Barley (reel) I played it a the local session and was told I played it as a polka lol....had to relearn it..
