For people who want a free program get AUDACITY! it works just as wonders for a good evp recorder just get a headset or anything and go to town with it

i used that and found it basic an not as good with the noise reductions orhigh filter passes but hey what ever floats your boat

Those of you saying that he should filter out the "metallic, high noises"... these are artifacts from using noise reduction. Sadly, all that can be done is use a FFT filter on the high frequencies. This will not eliminate the artifacts, but it can take the "edge" off of them. Sadly, the noise reduction artifacts are just part of the process. Be careful, though, sometimes the artifacts can be mistaken for voices.

Thanks for your comment. you explained it a lot better than I could have! Im aware of the possibilty of the editing tampering with the recording and in effect adding voices. I normally only focus on areas in the wav form that I cant hear a sound or voice before editing. This recording was an unusual one to say the least. I only have a few others like it for comparison.

@BBgeorge26 Hmm.. I don't know any other programs besides that.. My ex gave me a cool evp recorder for computer but i forgot what it was called.. lol.. I guess if you just buy one that you can convert to dvds and then upload them to youtube you can get it that but its probably like 80-90$ though hehe

@BBgeorge26 - Years and years of audio production. I've had the pleasure of being behind the glass for many a band. Noise Reduction artifacts are something I've come to both love and hate! =] In musical recordings, they are a pain in the buttocks! In EVP filtering, they are a God send.
