Small/Medium Day Pack Fanny Pack

Here is a small/medium day pack fanny pack that I put together. I was looking for an alternative to carrying my LBE gear when I go hiking.

I have had this fanny pack for years, I was going through my gear and I dug it out and decided to make a day pack out of it. It is a Bass Pro Shops fanny pack with 2 water bottle holders on the sides. It can also be used as an overnight kit if I add my wool blanket to it.

Its not a bad setup I dont think especially since I didnt have to go and buy anything. I will be trying it out and see how it does.

I have been wanting to go ultralight on day hikes and been looking at various fanny packs. What is the cubic inches of this set-up?

@titan90000 This is an older fanny pack that they dont make anymore so I am guessing approx 800-900 cubic inches.

Using what you have... love it! No need to spend big bucks on all those bullet proof maxpedition type molly gizmos that weight more than what you put in in them. I found a Remington Glenwood Canyon modular waiste pack on clearance at Walmart for $11. It has four velcro detatchable mini pouches including water bottle holder. The main two compartments are 761 cu in. The mini pouches should put it well over 1,000. Very versitile. Thanks for sharing!
