Burning since December 25, an 800 feet long and 80 feet high mulch fire will probably be burning for months.

  • I heard the same thing. Now they have started to bring in equipment to move the pile and they are dousing it with water as they do so they think they can get it put out in around 45 days now.

  • it's about time someone torched that pile of crap. smelled horrible, but at least it's gone.

  • let the mofo burn? that thing smells like a giant mesquite cook out ..then again YEAH LET IT BURN

  • let the mofo burn!

  • Whatever.. It smeels like barbeque, and I get Tuesday off because of it. I don't mind the massive flaming shrubbery.

  • right when it caught the guy said he could have his guys put it out in 45 days. i think the state just stepped in to help out since Helotes only has avoluntary fd.

  • I am SO tired of the awful smell from this mess! Has anyone else noticed that the dogs that are kept outside are going crazy barking and howling? Why don't people bring their pets inside? If this isn't good for people to breath, I don't think the poor animals should be out in it either.

  • i heard it would take a year for that pile to burn to the ground...
