Wanted to upgrade the stock incandescent lighting to LEDs. I bought the Bayonet style thinking they would do the job but soon found out they didnt produce "forward lighting effect". You want the light to be emitted towards other drivers, not bouncing around your housing. So I purchased SMD LEDs. I think SMDs are a great value for their money and then some. Each PCB has an array of 36 LEDs in a 6x6 formation. I made mine in a rectangular formation 6 x 12. The light output is astounding. There is a section where the bulb, LED Bayonet, and LED PCB are all lit on their own to you the luminescence.

  • I got to tell you that this is my most favort car and I wish I could have one so bad, but I think you should keep it stock, and if your going to to use mods I thinks you should only us mods from the era, but it is your car and almost anything you do to it will be cool just do what makes you happy. Peace

  • @TheFossMan1 I do appreciate your opinion but if that were the case, I would have to purchase redline tires from the era at 500 bucks each, the rims would still be 14s, the ignition would still be points, the paint...what paint can you find from the 60s...I hope you find this car for yourself one day and build it as you want it. Afterall, if you wanted it yellow with blue stripes and a 360 with a 5-speed manual....then that would be cool...cuz you built it.

  • engine and transmission is a whole different deal, you cheap fake looking led lights on a beautiful classes, sometimes I wish these cars would never reach hack job owners.

  • @Jx1x3 I guess adding subframe connectors is a no no because it alters the stance and rigidity of the suspension? Adding electric lumbar support seats must be a ricer thing too... or the custom embroidered seats...screw off kid, when you get your baby teeth out of your mouth and realize the world isn't exactly to your liking you will accomplish many things...

  • hmmmm no. engine and transmission upgrades are good. but pussy ass led's on a breautiful classic..you have the first riced out classic muscle car.

  • @Jx1x3 btw dumbass....the car has been in my family since day one of its birth on an Atlanta showroom floor. So I should keep it original...but now its okay to upgrade the engine and the transmission. While you tell all your friends that your fathers car is your car though you have never driven it...I actually own my car and I love it....and please take a tutor for English...your grammar is atrocious.

  • @n64player ..how about you keep on playing video games like your name suggests and leave those with real cars for the grown ups. If I wanted it original it would have a 3spd versus the 6spd in there now...or the 14'' magnums versus the 17'' magnums...piss off kid

  • The fuk are u doing? Keep the car original.

  • Very nice upgrade / improvement. Kudos for your research and install (I know those LEDs take some learning and testing [which - where did you find the SMDs?]). Keep up the good work Pyper. // PS: Amazing to see some first class fools around here with exemplary asinine comments and vile mentality.

  • @Pyper70 I wish more people thought like you, when it's your car do what makes you happy, makes it one of a kind

  • @Jx1x3 Oh...im sorry that the guy wants brighter lights on the back of a timeless classic...Cry about it bitch.

& LED's dont rice shit you fuckin idiot. Maybe Euro style LEDs...but not these...Shit. I'd be willing to bet that if you parked it at a car show with the hazard lights on...Only 2-3 people would know that the taillights aren't OEM.

  • @Pyper70 Thanks for the reply. I appreciate the information.
