Uploaded for Mr Blkmoet.... who like moi appreciates some nice neo-soul every now and then :) ...Kwesi Bonsu gives a beautiful take on this Al Green classic 'What A Wonderful Thing Love Is'. Hailing from the UK originally, he released some nice distinctive soul tunes in the mid-90s - along a similar vein to the late great Lynden David Hall. Although he seemed to disappear as quick as he appeared - but this was one of my favourites from him.

  • Just want to say that I had the great honor to be in a band led by Kwesi, called Sunchilde. We came over to the UK in '93 and made one album for Sony (Soho Square). Cleveland Watkiss from the UK was also involved in this project. Kwesi Bonsu is a rare spirit indeed, a musical genius who found great joy in unifying, promoting, and uplifting those around him. He is alive and well in the southern U.S.A., his light still burns brightly(thank God!), and the world has not heard the last of him. :)

  • @SonOfNighthawk13 Well..... many thanks for updating us.... and that one album which he done with Sony is all I have to remember this blessed artist.... so it's good to know he's still around and maybe some time in the future he will share his gift with us again.....

  • I've got the record "testimony" this is def. my favourite album of all time. i have been looking for something about this guy eversince... he did one track with d'influence but apart from that i don't know where he has been ever since!! is the guy a ghost? if so he's the most soulful ghost out there...

  • @therealrich ... so true... i just don't know what happened to him... i'm more inclined to think his record label just didn't know how to market a neo-soulsta and dash him (as they usually do)...

  • Yes, yes! Finally someone uploaded this. This man was soooo underrated. Criminally so. I think he was actually an American who settled here in the UK. I have his other single 'Lovely' which is also a heck of a tune. Thanx so much. Good to know there are others who appreciate this one too.

  • We don't get really any UK black music in the States.......but this is nice and it does have Al Green appeal to it.

  • All right, keep your shirt on. It wasn't a personal attack. I'm not going by the info on here. I recall hearing at the time it was released that Al Green wrote it or co wrote it for Kwesi's album. A quick scouring of the internet would reveal this song did not pre-date 1997 anyway suggesting I'm not far off.

  • @AcousticUplift ... you obviously do not read the information provide.... check info box which specifically states: "Kwesi Bonsu gives a beautiful take on this Al Green classic 'What A Wonderful Thing Love Is"

  • Really? I was under the impression Al Green wrote this/co-wrote this with Kwesi for his album?

  • Wickd traack from da man himself ...... Does anyone have any info based on Kwesi doing a track called LOVELY ? is there a video out there of LOVELY by Kwesi.. Please HELP!!!

  • Was looking for that song for years!!!!!!!!!!

    Great song! Thanks.
