Overview of the three Apple wireless devices currently available and comparisons of the three devices. I did mention I would show Airport Utility, but decided against it due to length considerations.

In summary, there is no one device that fits everyone. They are more expensive compared to their non-Apple counterparts, but if you run Apple computers in your home, the wireless works tremendously better with Apple computers than non-Apple routers will. Additionally, if you buy an Apple computer and have a Time Capsule or Airport Extreme, they will be covered under your Apple's AppleCare plan which is a nice bonus.

Currently I use the Extreme and the Time Capsule; the Time Capsule serves my older devices, the Extreme serves my three Mac computers. It works out very nice for me.

  • Yes but ssd's don't fail as often

  • @TheTechnolobster myth. Google it.

  • I ws thinking of making airport express my primary wifi router. U kept repeating that it's only designed to be a substitute for travel etc but not to be a primary wifi router. In my family we have one MacBook pro, one Sony vaio, 2 iPhones and 2 iPads. Do u think an airport express can handle all of them at once? And how's the range of the wifi signal? I wd really appreciate an answer. Great review BTW.

  • @amitnagpal1985 The Express will allow all of those devices to connect. But range will likely be an issue. Quite frankly, I would not cheap out on the Express UNLESS all devices are on the same floor of no more than 1,000 sq ft. Otherwise, I would go for the Extreme if I were you.

  • can i use time capsule to create personal wifi network?

  • @LetsSpotIt Of course. As noted in the video, it's the same thing as an Extreme, just has a hard drive. So yes, it can be a router by itself

  • I have to repeat what others have said, excellent review!!! I was looking for a review on these devices, but yours was the only one that was complete. The review was in the context of tying all of these devices together while at the same time discussing them individually! Thanks!

  • I have never commented on a video, but I had to commend you for an excellent review. This is exactly what I was looking for!
