Thirty-third Episode: Miyazaki Vacation Day 2&3

The second and third days of our vacation to Miyazaki prefecture.
Lilya and I took a body boarding lesson. We all went to a small kids amusement park and had fantastic kakigori! On the third day we went to a couple great shrines, the first of which rounds off this video!

  • A hotel clerk at Hotel Grandy Miyazaki told me there's homeless cats all over Aoshima. I sent pictures of Nemo to the shopkeeper. I bought many souvenirs, like sake and tea cups, from her for looking after the cat. Are you on facebook? My name is Blaine Tobin. I uploaded many photos of Miyazaki, Aoshima, Nichinan, Udo-jingo shrine, and Kirishima on FB. Do you live in Japan?

  • @blaine2112 That's a great story! And yes, I live in Fukuoka prefecture.

  • I love Miyazaki. I have over 5000 photos during my visits. I've been here five times, most recently in March 2011, September 2010. My cat is from Aoshima. I rescued him on Aoshima Island.

  • @blaine2112 Rescued? Was he a stray on the island? I didn't notice any cats around there.

  • Cool, Aoshima. And the snow cones looked really good.

  • @JapanAndThings They were! I'd go back to Miyazaki just for them!

  • @Sparkuus It appears someone placed him at the white stone pagados after the monsoon in September. When I was finished taking my photos and, as I was leaving Aoshima, there was a Japanese guy and his girlfriend who were about 20 feet away. I noticed him point several times to the ground and here was this young cat. I left him with a storekeeper next to the gift shop (dark colored building). I came back on March 11th during the 9.0 earthquake and got him. His name is Nemo!

  • man looks like fun!

  • @kenny62262 It's OK, I wasn't going to eat the crab or anything :)
