Synopsis!
"A View to a Kill" (1985) is the fourteenth spy film of the James Bond series, and the seventh and last to star Roger Moore as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Although the title is adapted from Ian Fleming's short story "From a View to a Kill", the film is the third Bond film after The Spy Who Loved Me and Octopussy to have an entirely original screenplay. In A View to a Kill, Bond is pitted against Max Zorin, who plans to destroy California's Silicon Valley.

The film was produced by Albert R. Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, who also wrote the screenplay with Richard Maibaum. It was the third James Bond film to be directed by John Glen.

Despite being a commercial success and earning a Golden Globe nomination, A View to a Kill was poorly received by critics and was also disliked by Roger Moore himself. However, Christopher Walken was praised for portraying a "classic Bond villain."

About Song!
"A View to a Kill" is the thirteenth single by Duran Duran, released in May 1985.

It was a stand-alone single, created for the James Bond movie A View to a Kill, and it remains the only James Bond theme song to have reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100; it also made it to #2 for 3 weeks on the UK Singles Chart, held off the top spot by "19" by Paul Hardcastle. In 1986, John Barry and Duran Duran were nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song for A View to a Kill.

The song was the last track that the original five members of Duran Duran recorded together until their reunion sixteen years later, in 2001. It was played at their final 1985 performance together, at Live Aid in Philadelphia.

.....Lyrics.....

Meeting you, with a view to a kill
Face to face in secret places, feel the chill.
Night fall covers me, but you know the plans I'm making,
Still oversea, could it be the whole world opening wide
A sacred why?, A mystery gaping inside
The weekends why?

Until we dance into the fire
That fatal kiss is all we need
Dance into the fire,
To fatal sounds of broken dreams
Dance into the fire,
That fatal kiss is all we need
Dance into the fire.....

Choice for you, is the view to a kill
Between the shades, assination standing still.
The first crystal tears, fall as snowflakes on your body
First time in years, to drench you skin with lovers' rosy stain
A chance to find the phoenix for the flame,
A chance to die..

But can we dance into the fire
That fatal kiss is all we need
Dance into the fire
To fatal sounds of broken dreams
Dance into the fire
That fatal kiss is all we need
Dance into the fire
When all we see.. is the view to a kill....End

  • @MrStuDubb Moore all the way !!! he did have the the fumiest lines thou - wonder who will be next ?

  • Great Soundtrack.

The villain was psychotic but GREAT

Roger Moore seemed a bit old for 007 in 85'

Both leading female roles were not exactly the best of the Bond Series.

  • Its actually one of the best Bond films ive seen.

  • Just seen this one and i just love the song and the movie.

  • This film has a disclaimer at the beginning insisting that Christopher Walken's criminal enterprise is fictional...lest we think otherwise.

  • What a song... Some guys are amazing! :-)

  • My favorite Bond movie <3

  • living daylights was better :P

  • Desmond Llewelyn was the best actor in EVERY bond movie!!

  • I personally enjoyed Roger Moore's films the best. However, I believe Connery was the best bond. Brosnan was good too. Craig is the toughest bond. He's more of an action hero than a Moore, Connery or Brosnan.
