  • What about the modeling of the mountains, they look great, what technique you use?. ( I know its a projection).

  • @lukassstyyy Hi.

I took the 2D picture and did some really basic poly modelling and than smoothed it out and used max' sculpting tools. and of course projected a map + bump + AO and all that stuff

    hope it helps

  • @vfxworld how did you get the exact shape of the mountain, I know it may sound stupid but I'm just getting into 3d modeling and I'd like to learn somethings.

  • @CoDisafishy you just start with a simple single plane and extrude edges from it. Very simple and basic.

  • @vfxworld thanks, but how do I know that it will be the right size and shape for the scene?

  • @CoDisafishy that's easy.

For Camera Projections, you place the image of the object as backround in top/front or side view and lock the zoom/pan.

Than you model using the bg pic as a blueprint.

Next up you create a projection camera that projects the image onto the polygons.

  • @vfxworld that's the artists decision. Noone could tell from a single image if a 3D object matches the real world object.

  • @viplovem Man not everything on my channel makes a deep story sense. Actually nothing does. I am NOT a story writer but a visual artist.. In your opinion I create pointless videos in my opinion I show my skills so that a director for example who has got a brilliant story in mind can use them to visualize his thoughts.

  • @viplovem lol! Think about it. Why should I create such a clip?

hmmmmmm probably my name is "vfxworld" and I want to become a visual artist later so hmmmmm MAYBE you need a portfolio to get accepted in some schools or studios. uhmm. Well. And this one MAY function as portfolio..

Well what to say, young school kids as you probably don't know about jobs and stuff. You will know in a few years, don't worry.
