I grew up at Waterside and my parents still live there. If all it took was some yuppies paying market rent to get all the halls and lobbies renovated and the plaza landscaped, then I think thats great. Wake up Varda, this is NYC in 2008, Waterside is still a great deal compared to what is out there! My walk to the subway here in Brooklyn is longer than it was at Waterside for almost the same rent.

Interesting that they didn't interview the residents that have been at Waterside for 20 or 30 years...I think they'd have a different story to tell. I wonder why there was no mention of the harassment from management and the totalitarian way in which the complex is now run.
Waterside used to be a wonderful fun place. It isn't anymore. It's full of rich snobs and medical students living 4 or 5 to an apartment.
