(Arlington, VA) Matthew Berry, Republican candidate for Congress in Virginias Eighth Congressional District, will be hosting a campaign kickoff event this Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 1:00 PM in the Conference Center of Marymount University, located at 1000 North Glebe Road in Arlington, Virginia. Mr. Berry will begin the free campaign kickoff by meeting with supporters, followed by introductions from party leaders and a statement to supporters. Refreshments will be provided.

Matthew Berry has a proven ability to foster support from diverse groups of people, said Kristopher Morris, Campaign Manager of Matthew Berry for Congress. The local support and national recognition that our campaign is garnering shows that victory in the Eighth District is possible and that Matthew Berry is the candidate that can build a winning coalition for November.

The campaign recently announced that it is working closely with the National Republican Congressional Committee and has been officially enrolled in their Young Guns Program. The Young Guns program works closely with Republican campaigns in hotly contested races across the country to elevate them from good to great to victory.

If I am the Republican nominee, the 8th District won't be an afterthought this fall as it has been in past elections. Rather, we will be in the middle of the fight to take back control of Congress, said Matthew Berry, Republican Congressional Candidate for Virginias Eighth District. When we launched this campaign late last year, I pledged to conduct our campaign in the best possible way: To do this we needed to hire the best possible staff and execute the best possible plan for success, to make sure our voices are heard in Washington. Today, the NRCC has acknowledged that we are doing just that.
