Mastodon In Elko NV Part 1 - Ol'e Nessie

Yes, Mastodon really did play in Elko. It happened on June 4, 2002 -- only six days after the earthcrushing "Remission" was released on Relapse records. Something like 20 to 30 kids at this show, none of whom had heard Mastodon before.

This show happened in what is now Hi Discount Liquor on South 5th Street in Elko.

Opening act was Life At Stake.

Yeah, that's really them. By all accounts they were the loudest show that ever happened in Elko. We are certainly lucky that someone was filming.

I saw them on this tour when they played in Philly. One of the greatest shows I've ever been to, and there was practically anyone in the crowd.
