  • @VVc0mpu73r google Sam Harris. He's a textbook definition of a critical thinker.

  • @CraftyMiscreant Im simply explaining to u what I ment by "smart" ... and I allready agreed that I missused the word , because I havnt given it much tought .. that other people probably wont give the same properties of the word that I had in mind . About the good public speeker thing.... im not saing hes not .. , but that he`s much more than just good

  • @VVc0mpu73r

and that he is a good public speaker, because he is speaking his thoughts in a clear, concise manner in a organized way where people can interpret and understand what he is saying (another tangible referent to the word I'm using). You, on the other hand, said he's "smarter than other people." ....Okay, how? Because you never seen anybody else deliver good ideas? Because he knows a bit about sociology? You also say it goes with the smart package. Whats the "smart package?"

  • @VVc0mpu73r

....'Superior train of though, logic, well "informness", ect ect was not what you first said, sir. You first said that he was smart. In fact, you used it as a comparative term to other individuals (which had not physical referent) as an "objective compliment." All I said was that he is a good public speaker. Not "well informed good public speaker." He is well in formed on the basis that he has accumulated data that he understands(tangible referent).

  • @CraftyMiscreant .. I came to realise from our little discusion here that using "smart" for his superior train of thought ,logic , well-informness , speed of thought , public speaking ... is not very good desciption , but u saing he`s just a "well informed good public speaker" is not also

  • @VVc0mpu73r

...and saying that he's "smart" is such a better description. Your semantic Jargon is no different from a Politician's....I'm assuming you think the political profession is outdated right?

  • @CraftyMiscreant thats probably correct if the majority of the people had above average understanding of the correct use of words and wile "good public speaker" is better tehnical term to use it is still far from describing the reality in this matter ... his ability to explain things is way way beyond .. your average "good public speaker"

  • @VVc0mpu73r

Saying that he is a good public speaker is much better than saying that he is smart. Why, because he delivered concise information and was able to express his thoughts. No semantics, no lack of a physical standard. I never said that we needed to change the entire english language, just think about the empty distinctions you are using.

  • @VVc0mpu73r What about Fresco?

  • @CraftyMiscreant there is no physcal standart for prety big percentange of the words that exsist , if we dont use them too ... just because the are not 100% acurate we will need a brand new language . Anyway I see your point and I wont argue any further on the specific use of english words , because my knowage in this area is limited to selfthought through watching stuff online ... and thats the reason I use the so called "ambiguous terms" ... I dont know english as good as u .. thats all
