oh, i agree, the only chance america has at this point is a popular uprising with millions on the streets and to put the elites who try to grab tyrannical powers as we speak behind bars. If that doesn't happen, even if we have a free election in 08 and perhaps 8 more years of democracy and prosperity, these people will eventually come back and finish the job.

Since we are becoming more of a police state (with private armies) it is more of a question of what should we do now since companies like blackwater are rising to power. the problem with "spreading democracy" on the spearhead of mercenaries is that once you have a standing private army you are not much of a democracy anymore. read federalist papers 24-29. the founders never intended the US to be an imperial leech on humanity's back. quiet the contrary. The US should use its advantages in science and high tech research to get humanity off of oil. that would in fact be the case if it wasn't to vested texas interests in the republican party.
