$250,000.00 ? Sure, let`s all run out and buy one ,while they are on Sale. Get the price tags down ,so people can afford cars like these.

I'm looking forward to Tesla Motors selling a city electric car with a futuristic look and styling- and offering it both in electric, and plug in hybrid choice. And rather than batteries, hopefully UltraCapacitors will be used- like Honda originally plan to use in the 2000 Honda Insight Hybrid. It's been 11 years :-)

Hope electric cars will be something everyone can afford with great mileage because oil isn't going to last forever.

@screwopenborders Good point. But how could you disengage wheel-mounted motors? I can't read schematics but my laymens sense of this car is that if the motor is running then it's a given that the wheel it's housed in is spinning as well because they are built together as a unit

@screwopenborders They don't work in the real world. Plus they add a huge amount of unsprung weight which compromises handling and ride quality.

You'd expect with over 600 hp compared to the Tesla's 250 hp it would be quite a bit faster!

quarter of a million dollars... well we know poverty won't have the means to break away from gas powered cars. IMO automotive companies really need to start producing cars on an affordable level so gas powered cars can be stomped out.
