  • I'm not for or against a barrage as i can see benefits and disadvantages with both scenarios. Having grown up in Somerset and now living and working in Gloucestershire it's something I've been interested in for many years. I have tried to be balanced and, hopefully, when one watches all 3 parts one will see I am not setting a stall out for either the anti or the pro barrage lobbies.

  • Good answer. I'll keep watching.

Did you know about the Barrage at Moncton on the Peticodiac? Worth a look for more evidence.

  • This has the look of a sales pitch. Why are you comparing the Severn Estuary with La Rance? That estuary is a low silt environment, and it has had silting problems. The only place that can even remotely be compared to the Severn Estuary is the Peticodiac scheme in the Bay of Fundy. I think you will see supporters of the barrage trying their damndest to take attention away from the utter disaster of THAT barrage. It silted up. It is too big an area to dredge. The barrage won't work. Who are SEAGS?

  • support the barrage , support enviromental rape and destruction of unique wildlife habitats.
