Most Quality eyeglass cleaners will also include a silicone base to help keep the surface tension to a minimum, this helps considerably in the winter months. Also there is a difference in the surfactant that you use and the ratios.

@JediMasterLego Just plain old 70% isotropy alcohol, I wouldn't use 90% isotropy alcohol. For the soap just use a drop of dish washing soap. Try using distiled water also, distiled water will leave no water marks I use it all the time to clean LCD tvs.

isopropyl alcohol, the "methanol" that you use to clean cuts and scrapes [and you usually have like in a medicine cabinet or first-aid kit], or what kind of alcohol exactly [should we be using]?
yeah, and what kind of 'soft' soap?, because i've gone to several eyeglass-clinics (not to an optician's office) with my mom, and they all say "use soft soap and water from the tap, and then dry with your microfiber cloth and that will be okay".

what does "some alcohol" mean? should I pour in some vodka or whisky or what? :-)

soft soap you mean like camay and such ? Dove ? .....

I really didn't think alcohol would help, thanks.

can you use contacts solutions?
I like your "eyeglasses care" videos,,,
I want to know if it is OK to wash my eyeglasses with bathroom liquid soap???
I was told to do thta,,,at the optometrystore where I get my glasses but i´m not sure,,,,,
they say, washing it with that soap, use my finger tip to rub it, and finally use the microfiber cloth to dry it,,,,, is that OK?

it's sounds good to me. but I don't normally need soap to clean my glasses. they don't get that dirty. but I highly recommend microfiber.
