I remember this game well. I was all of 9 at the time and nervously watched this drive with my family. When the kick was blocked everyone jumped up and down in relief and celebration.
The TV was on in the den. I was small enough then that I had literally crawled all the way up a metal banister out of anxiety. The banister led all the way down to where the game was playing.

I'm alabama fan and was at this game 21 years ago and was sitting on that goal line about 30 rows up. The dread I felt as PSU drove down the field and I thought B. Thomas scored. Then the elation with that block. What a game. I have to give props to the Penn State fans. We were 6 guys from Alabama and were starving to death and couldn't get out of the traffic and some nice PSU fans in an RV fed us. Class act all the way.
