What is this voice over thing, I don't remember the episode being like this.

@ControlMastery Maybe. But perhaps he is rellying on the knowledge that he knows he already gained her trust. And besides that, he is obviously involved in April's story, and is clearly attached to her somehow. This approach would probably have worked better in another session... but not on the first =P

I absolutely agree that even though he may have failed her tests (interesting there, I missed the most obvious one), Paul acted correctly. There were certain practical constraints here and responsibilities one has as a human being. This complicates their therapuetic relationship and eventually leads April to feel that it's impossible to go on seeing Paul, but it is still what she needs in this moment.
I am not claiming I am an ideal therapist and that what I am about to write is the only correct way to approach this particular situation; I'm just expressing how I perceive the session could have resulted in a more favorable outcome. I don't think the therapist handled the situation in a professional manner - or at least not in the ideal professional manner. @againsthetide00 I apologize for the long delay. I thoroughly agree. He was unprofessional in his insistence that she seek doctoring and by notifying her mother despite her insistence that he not do so.

Why did he act this way? It's not logical because obviously she hadn't told anyone, not even the nearest persons - about the cancer. So he first has to find out why not.

@lieberso I see no justification for his actions, which end up destroying the therapeutic relationship, causing her to leave treatment.

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a website where I can watch the entire series, starting with season 1, episode 1. I was introduced to this series accidentally, and I love it.
I would like to watch it for free, without the commentary (even though I think the speaker's opinion/editorial is dead on)

@MissLisaAnne Googling "In Treatment episodes" will bring up sites that at least claim to provide full episodes. The new season of In Treatment begins on HBO this Monday.
