Watch me in HD =D . Skip to 1:30 if you want to see the actual lift. 315 lbs box squat on a calorie deficit (easy) . Notice how quickly I explode. Ok so I dont break a 90 but close enough, give me some credit. I have to work on my flexibility (sigh). That was not me making those noises. FYI - I'm 150 lbs. P.S I don't have my new glasses yet. The woman did not know that Anti reflective coating can't be tinted. I have to wait 3 more weeks :( .

I have reached a point in my strength training that I no longer have anything else to prove to myself at a 150 lb body weight. I have accomplished all of my strength goals. I'm not a powerlifter nor do I have plans of competing. There is only so much that I can do at a 150 lb bodyweight and nethier am I looking to push for more relative strength. I will not be adding more videos any time soon at least not for now. Maybe later when I get to 170-180 lbs. Today is Monday AUG 15 th 2011, over the weekend I realized that my training is not what it use to be anymore. I'm strong but at the same time I feel tired mentally and physically. I have taken off time from training before but this wont be time off from training more like hitting more reps for a couple of months or weeks. I'm pretty burnt out on strength training. I no longer will I be pushing as much. I just need a mental break and physical break. My body has been pounding heavy weights for a long time and right now I feel is the right time for me to just chill. My left tricep and left shoulder are also something that has been bothering me for a few months now and I think its over all just a good idea to take it easy for a couple of months. I already accomplished all of my strength goals, I have nothing to prove to myself at a 150 lbs body weight. Maybe next week I will change my mind but as of now I don't have any plans of changing my thoughts about this. My body is tried and so is my mind from strength training.

  • If you want too keep it athletic you only need to go parallel. I play football and I have a 380 lb box squat parallel! I'm 152 lbs I play cornerback and wide receiver but I also train with a personnel trainer so I don't have to follow the strength training BS at our school

But if your training for strength and not for.athletic power then your doing everything right.

  • @Family3o3 Cool , show us your video of your 380 lbs box squat.

  • I usually critique people for not hitting parallel on their squats but I'm pretty sure you did. I think it just looks like you didn't because your camera is on a tilt. I might be a little taller (5'9") but I use the same box setup with the 5 steps under it.

    good lift man

  • @TrainWithJustinSane I can do 4 steps just not much weight. I need to work more on flexibility that's a goal I have this year.

  • @rickalex21 I would but i'm a 17 yr old in high school i'm 5 ft 7 152lbs and i don't record my videos just show up to my gymn any day and i'd be happy to show you!!!

  • @eowdaoc Thanks for sharing, I'm a little confused about the new youtube style so if I comment twice or something that's probably why or missed something. I'm working on my 2 certifications so ill see what I can get out of that as well thanks for sharing.

  • @rickalex21 and also a good pair of oly shoes will make full-depth squat feel so much nicer.

  • @eowdaoc well i've heard mobility wod is a nice website. Gotta do a thorough stretch routine at least every other day. I've done twice in one day before. Hamstrings, quads/hip flexors, piriformis/glute, calf/ankle, GROIN, and shoulder dislocates with a broomstick is what i usually do. Practice just sitting in a squat position. Try to keep the back neutral or arched, hamstring flexi and lower back strength will improve this.

  • @eowdaoc Working on it if you have any suggestions please let me know thanks.

  • You may have hit your strength goals at 150 lbs but you could definitely make a new goal of improving flexibility and getting a 2x BW squat ass to grass.

  • @TrainWithJustinSane I will be the first one to admit that my flexibility / hip strength is not as good. There are guys who have never squat before and can squat 3 inches ass off the ground. Im not as flexible , that's something that I have been working on. I was working out with 250 275 3 -5 sets and 4 steps which is a dramatic improvement. This video has 5 steps.
