Having studied this piece, I can confirm that he is definitely playing. All the fingerings are correct, the video is simply a fraction of a second off from the audio. Also, he does some things differently than the recording supplied with the sheet music. #1 - it's definitely a soprano saxophone we're hearing and not an oboe, and #2 - he plays the 16th notes in measure 186 as written, while the oboist on the recording plays them off half a beat. This is some sweet stuff.

The Las Vegas outfit Ties is wearing is fun--quite a statement! One does get tired of seeing black or white shirts all the time onstage... I guess it's in keeping with the Pop/satiric slant of the music.
