Mini marathon. I'm uploading...2 more after this.
[Princess]
Demi's POV
It was 8 o'clock at night, and Miley was half drunk. We were seated on my living room couch, a little ways away from the party that had adults crowded around my household here and there. Slow, classical, music was in the background of the murmurs heard throughout my house. The 2 catering girls occasionally passed by offering different types of mini foods and small sandwiches. Miley always took 3, but Taylor and I just passed. Miley look another sip of her wine and sighed.
"This...sucks." She mumbled.
"Yeah. It's not fun without the guys." Taylor sighed, too. I rolled my eyes.
"Oh come on. You guys sound like such...housewives." I slightly frowned of my choice of words.
"What?" Miley looked up. I rolled my eyes.
"Nevermind." I grumbled, resting my chin on my hand. There was silence in between us, and then suddenly, a loud crash came from the kitchen. There was then a thud, and some more glass breaking. Our heads all snapped up.
"What was that?" Taylor asked.
"Oh my God, we're gonna die." Miley started hyperventilating, then drank the rest of her wine.
"It's probably-" I started.
"Demi!" My mom came rushing towards me. I stood up, waiting for her to go on, "Sweetie could you please go check whats going on in there?"
"Mom," I glanced back at Miley, who was now sprawled across the couch sleeping, "Why can't you do it?"
My mother extended her arms around frustratingly, as if showing me a big car.
"Hello?! Do you not see I'm hosting a dinner party here, Demetria?!"
"Okay, okay, sheesh. I'm sorry." I rolled my eyes and started making my way towards the kitchen. I took a deep breath before entering, ready to see what the big disaster was. I pushed the swiveling kitchen door open slightly, and poked my head in. There was shattered glass over the floor and a person was picking it up, it was a man, and his back was facing me. I sighed, and walked in.
"Look what you did!" A girl screeched from across the island. "Now we're never gonna get hired again! Ugh, I can't believe you got so clumsy, can't you see how important this job is for us?! DIANA LOVATO, JOE! DIANA LOVATO!" The blonde girl yelled. She looked young, about my age.
"Oh cut him some slack." Somebody else said, it sounded like another girl, but I couldn't see where she was, because my eyes were still fixed on the glass. The blonde girl kept screeching, and the other person kept telling her to calm down, while the guy just kept picking up the glass. Nobody noticed me.
And that's a first.
I finally just shook my head and cleared my throat. All froze, and all eyes snapped in my direction, except the guy's, he just froze.
"Um," I cleared my throat again, cursing my mom for sending me here, "What's going on?"
The guy got up, throwing the glass away and turning towards me.
"Who are you?" He asked, not rudely, but politely. He was then smacked in the head by the blonde.
"She's Diana Lovato's daughter you idiot."
I blushed a bit, not really expecting them to know me. My attention then turned back to the guy. He was pretty tall, looked a little older than me, and had on black rectangular glasses, with khaki pants, and a white button up shirt.
"Oh, he just...dropped stuff. Accidently." Another girl voice said. I turned my head to see the other voice I didn't see earlier. She was a girl, brunette. And her outfit choice was quite...peculiar. I frowned as I examined it. What the hell?
She had on bright red laced army boots that went up to her knees, and a striped purple and white shirt that was overlapped by a red and white polka dotted dress that turned into shorts. And along with that she had a million beaded necklaces wrapped around her neck. Her hair was tied into a loose side pony tail with strands sticking out on the side of her face. My frown turned deeper.
"Uh...ok." I said, giving them a strange look.
"Didn't mean to interrupt your gala, princess." The guy said. My eyes snapped in his direction and I gave him a glare. He gladly glared back.
"Yeah, don't do it again." I mocked, going along with his stupid assumption. I didn't come here on purpose, I was SENT by my stupid mother. But he obviously didnt know that.
He was about to speak when the back kitchen door opened and a middle aged woman came in. She obviously didn't belong to the party, and she gasped when she saw the mess on the counter, and the left over glass.
