45 years, Chief Educator Barbara Brown Lee has shared the joy of learning about art with visitors to the Milwaukee Art Museum. The BBL Series captures Barbara's unique relationship to, and passion for the works in the Museum's Collection, providing the viewer with a rich and engaging perspective on the art.

  • Kelly was also attracted to colourful boats in the south of France. He noted the horizontal bands of bright colour on them (see Yves-Alain Bois' book 'Ellsworth Kelly: the Early Drawings'). It seems to be from here that he first had the idea to make vertical monochromatic panels. But I don't think we should necessarily try to pin his work down in such a way - birds nor boats.
