A nice egg-shaped crystal vase and three sphere magnets. I'm only running the motor at 0-20% for this video because it isn't attached to the base and vibrates too much. Should be done in a week or so - it has lights, too.

  • Can you make this vortex pump water?

  • Good idea, but it was mainly for decoration - not to preform any function. I'm not sure how the vortex dynamics can be utilized to pump water.

  • A plastic or teflon sheet between the magnets and the vase and then fill it with oil. Nice and quiet. You should color it too and add LED's. :D

  • Good idea. One of the reasons for such powerful motor was to test on fluids of various viscosity. The project was unfortunately demolished by one of the cats - haven't had time to begin again.

  • juxtapose six of that thing and sealed the vase.

  • nice vid dude! try to make six of that thing and arrange it in circular fashion with main vase vortex in the center. Vase must be sealed up. Apply power to the motor of the vase vortex at 20% speed stop the motor and you will see something. Note: the vase should be able to conduct the vibration to the adjacent vase.

  • You should put a drop of food coloring in there.

  • Great vortex action! I wanna build one! One could try plastic or epoxy-coated magnets if less "music" is desired.

  • Looks like you're part way to making a hyperbolic centripetal spiral movement device..Victor Shauberger.. Good skills.

  • Beautiful.

In the lab, in a pyrex beaker, that's called a magnetic stirrer. Less vigourous and far less entertaining than your beast... Nice one.
