* BEFORE ANYTHING IS SAID I WILL ADMIT THAT I MADE TWO MISTAKES IN THIS PRESENTATION. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ME, MARK BAUERLEIN AND ALL WHOM AGREE WITH HIS RECENT BOOK IS THAT I AM NOT EGO INFLATED ENOUGH TO ADMIT THAT I MADE THEM.
I am correcting myself. In this video I said that Coast to Coast was aired on F.M. radio.
( That is not true. It is aired on A.M. radio.)
The second one I noticed was that the particular radio show I am referring to I said was hosted by George Nory when, in fact, it was hosted by Ian Punett.
This video blog is simply stating how I feel about how an educated adult such as Mark Bauerlein would write such venom about a generation that he isn't even a part of. It may be true that he sees what people from this generation amount to on a case by case basis, but he has does not know the statistical data of every single person under 30. Furthermore, even though it is Mr.Bauerlein's right to freedom of speech and opinion, I am exercising my own. I was just surprised that a man of his intellect and stature would LITERALLY call this generation stupid when he is an educator. The job of an educator is to support and not denounce.
@mutefx Um, if anything I lack ego. I'm even brave enough to admit it. At the time of making this video I admit I was angry because I was rather offended that he would entitle it The DUMBEST Generation. How would you feel if some one called your generation dumb. Would you just take it? I don't think so.

Did any of your, amazingly authoritative, research involve....I don't know.....reading the book he was promoting?
I mean, your point about a 13 year old choosing an xbox over reading is pretty much a mainstay of his book, but he's asking why adults treat it as an enriching experience comparable to reading.
The stats are in the book. Technology has become more available and pervasive, and test scores for American youth have gotten worse. It's a solid case against youth ego, like yours.
