Wireless Technology Wi-FiWi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is a type of Local Area Network (LAN), which connects and transmits data from unit to unit by means of high frequency airwaves, not cable connections. This flexible data transmission system is an extension - or alternative - of the Local Cable Network inside a building or an area.As a rule the Wi-Fi network circuit comprises at least one access point and one client. Two clients may be connected in the point-to-point regimen. In this case the clients are connected by the network adapters directly without using the access point. The access point transmits its Service Set Identifier (SSID) by means of special map messages at a speed of 0,1 Mbit/sec every 100 msec. Therefore the speed of 0,1 Mbit/sec is the least possible speed to transmit data for Wi-Fi. Knowing the network SSID the client may find out if the connection to this access point is possible. When the receiver enters the zone of two access points with identical SSID, it may select the one with the appropriate signal level. The Wi-Fi standard enables the client to freely select the connection criteria. The advantages of Wi-Fi* It enables you to unwind the network without laying the cable, making it cheaper to unwind/expand the network. In some areas it is impossible to lay a cable, for instance outside buildings and in places of historic value. Such areas may be serviced by wireless networks.* It gives mobile devices access to the network. * Wi-Fi devices are extensively represented on the market. We warrant the equipment compatibility as the compulsory certification of the equipment bearing the Wi-Fi logotype is provided.Despite the fact, that the range of coverage is limited, the Wi-Fi remains highly popular for multipurpose use, either for attracting clients, increasing the level of comfort or pure altruism, both in Russia and worldwide. There are more and more free hot-spots where you can get totally free access to the most popular global network (the Internet). The hot-spots may include major road junctions, where one can connect independently in the automatic regimen, and areas of constant gathering of people inside the urban landscape.
