The African Capacity Building Foundation was established in 1991 by African governments and the international donor community, to build capacity for development implementation. The current membership of the Foundation comprises the three sponsor agencies: African Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank, in addition to the International Monetary Fund as well as 42 African and non-African countries. Joining ABN on the foundation's latest undertaking is Dr Frannie Leautier, Executive Secretary of the African Capacity Building Foundation.
