People probably dont appreciate the OP much until they get into the story. usually by EP 3, you'd be singing you're lungs out every time you hear it.

I find there are faults with the series, particularly about how the anime ended half way through the manga even though the manga was completely finished like a year before, but I don't want to go on a tangent about it. Essentially, the arcs that were adapted were great in their own way, but the second half/arc doesn't create the sense of a proper conclusion.

This anime have plenty of fascinating characters (Maeda Noboru, Yokosuka Jou, Minakami Mario, Nomoto Ryuuji, Matsuura Mansaku, Tooyama Tadayoshi) and Sakuragi Rokurouta is one of the best male anime characters ever!

THIS is an anime. Epic opening, storyline and characters. I love this anime and it's much better than other famouse anime (Death Note, Bleach, One Piece, etc).
