Here we see the full ascent of James McHaffie on 'Spiderpants' (as far as we're aware the only on sight of this route) in the Welsh slate quarries, some of this ascent was featured in the ground breaking climbing film 'On Sight'. http://www.posingproductions.com
@yomattieT
the 6b is actually a UK 'technical grade' rather than a french 'sports grade'. A UK 6b technical grade will equate to something like f7a

@supliciodc : MEANING ?

it's normal on many slate climbs to have both natural protection and in situ bolts due to the difficulty in placing gear on frictionless slate. It's still given a trad grading as it's definitely closer to trad than a sport route.

there are a lot of bolts! (so why the trad grading?!)
I mean...its really not very dangerous, or maybe the camera angle makes it look like the bolts are 3m to another...

@chiragshah5001 I guess it depends on how purist you are? I personally wouldn't call it a pure onsight if the draws were already on for me.
As to the trad grade and bolts... maybe its mixed? :S

the grades are just for people to understand them some people don't know trad grades so if the French grade is there its easier.
