How were you allowed to drive in China without replacing your German number plates with Chinese ones? I thought that only cars from certain neighbouring countries were allowed to drive on foreign plates. I also thought cars from other countries required a Chinese guide. Have the rules changed?

Hallo,

yes we had Chinese number plates. And we had a Chinese guide from a state travel agency and we had to pay a "entrance fee".

My Chinese licence Plate for the "Lufthansa" Beetle was H00251.
