@Titandan C.S. Lewis, 'Mere Christianity' is worth a look .For the truth about religion & top Bible scholarship try Robert M. Price, ' The reason driven life ', also John W. Loftus, Valerie Tarico. For humanity's shared moral core and belief in Matt 7v12 The Golden Rule, "treat others as you want them to treat you", try wisdomcommons.
@ssvr We should return to and contend for the faith that was 'once and for all entrusted' to the saints (Jude 1:3) in brokeness over our sins and promotion of our own brilliance over the safeguarded deposit of the early church. What was that faith that was once and for ALL delivered? It wasn't the catholic faith of today, nor was it the orthodox faith of today (although the latter contains many important elements of such), nor was it the typical protestant faith of today.
I'm consistently surprised at how supposed 'top notch' intellectuals/western theologians can make such epistemologically unsound statements such as 'people who believe the Bible'. Believe what Wayne? Your brand of interpretation? Calvin's? You mean you want people to absorb the teachings of a man who burned another at the stake? When will the West forsake its idol of intellectualism and learn to submit its theology to the holiness of God?
Name some non-Calvinist theologians -- I mean really heavy hitters -- and maybe Gruden will note them. Dr. Sproul lists the main shooters on each side of the predestination argument, beginning with Augustine (vs. Pelagius), and the obvious reaction is that "Those sides just aren't fair!" Indeed, they are not!
I absolutely love Wayne Grudem's Systematic Theology! I also have Hodge's Systematic Theology as well ! In Christ's Love, BobbyK
