  • This is the absolute summit of guitar artistry: only a tiny handful of supreme masters have ever matched it (Gatton, Breau, maybe Atkins) and none has surpassed it. The knowledge it takes to finger-pick those incredibly complex lines with that kind of fluidity & feel is truly vast. Not for kiddies, baby!

  • oh man you've named some special guitar players there, and I agree with your conclusion, if there were such a thing as a world guitar player competition, you'd get very short odds on Scotty. Brilliant right off the scale.

  • @ChiTown7721 what? hard to play fast on hendrixs guitars? wtf are you talkin about man, I shred the hell out of my strat all the time. tons of players play fast on strats, some fingerstyle even. I study classical guitar so I have to do fingerstyle, and really, im surprised how its coming from flatpicking. a couple months in and I can do a bit of tremolo. im trying to learn recuerdos del alhambra. different music is different, but its all guitar playing you either know what your doing or you dont

  • Only recently just heard of "Scotty Anderson" - and I thought at my advanced age I had actually pretty much heard almost all the great players. How wrong was I again!!!

I really thought Richard Smith & Tommy Emmanuel were front runners ! Now I'm not so sure......I also can't help thinking Joscho Stephan too with gypsy jazz (exceptionally talented) and there must be still unheard of talent eg. in Russia. Goes on and on..... So pleased to have 'found' Scotty....

  • ok I'm going to have my hands chopped off !!

I'm going to show my ignorance here probably, but my question to anyone is.A..is this a rehearsed performance..B..is he pulling from an arsonel of licks. and C.. is he coming up (inventing) these riffs as he goes?

  • bob is the damn man!!!!!!!

  • Folks you are witnessing perhaps the greatest picker of the guitar in the world today. No one comes close to his execution of notes on any tune he picks. Bob is truly in awe of this pickers talent. He is great too and the two of them put on a great show. Scotty is truly underrated in today;s music world....10 stars forever great job...Keep up the great work Scotty America loves you.......10 stars

  • Dam! I'm REALLY Pissed off !! I'm taking the Guitar I purchased for myself last Christmas back to the store where I bought it and get my money back!!

It did'nt come with ANY of these notes or Chords !!!!!!!!!

  • The right hand technique is brilliant. Switching from pick to fingers at speed is a skill in itself. Brilliant playing...

  • @ChiTown7721

Hendrix was a bluesplayer, you can´t really compare players that belong to different genres. Scotty can play the blues well too but not up to Hendrix level.

It should alson be mentioned that it is really difficult to play fast on the guitars Hendrix used.

  • (continued) knew about. I'm not just referring to technique either. Look at Django Reinhardt. He created a whole new sub-genre of jazz called "gypsy jazz" by taking the sounds of the Gypsy bands he grew up playing with and combining them with jazz. Then there were other great guitarists like Paco de Lucia that blew my mind as well. I just needed to open up my eyes and see what else was out there because at the time I was listening to nothing but rock and blues. So glad I did.
