" After twenty-five years as an award winning photojournalist with the US Information Agency, and a 25 year gap as a media spokesman, I reconnected with my sister, who I had not seen since 1961, (she was 1 year old) . Unknown to me , she had had followed in my footsteps, becoming a photographer and an awarding winning visual artist.

With her encouragement, I began taking photographs again and she curated a joint show of our photographs that showed similarities in our work and vision, to the point that we can only blame a common gene pool, rather than a common association, or knowledge of each other's work.

Although I am now retired and in my seventies, she encouraged to take up the camera one last time and photograph in a completely new country. My family suggested that I visit the People's Republic of China as I had not worked there before and had always wanted to see the Great Wall. "---YUKI in 2006
