Hair Grease and Ponytails

In this video I am asking the question "Why did our hair retain length with the use of mineral oil, shampoos with sulfates, and barely any deep conditioning methods when we were kids?"

afford the miss jessie or kinky curly, or any other natural brand when you know that the products that have those ingredients in it work. its driven me to fear at times thinking if i use it my hair will fall out or wont grow but i forgot how my mum had that same ble magic on the back of her hand and greasing my scalp and my hair was healthy and strong.i must admit i am afraid of the natural hair police..lol but i will now be using products that work fo my hair regardless of ingredients. :o)

protective styles like braids and not touching it. keeping it simple and staying away from brushes and coms. the east indian women use the dabur amla with mineral oil and look at how long their hair is. all this mineral oil stuff, well i dont know! lol!!

Thank you.yeah I remember getting the rubber band off the newspaper when we needed some for my hair. My mom used royal crown on my hair. After washing my hair she would grease my scalp and my hair. Thanks for keeping it real.

@potterylad1 I used pure sulfer 8 back in the day as a child. For twist outs today I use Royal Crown. Only for twist outs. For other styles I seal with Olive Oil.

it grew because hair grease is the bomb, we wore the same hairstyle a month at a time, our mommas cooked, we played outside, and we were made to go to bed on time. so let's see....moisture, proper rest, better diets, and plenty of exercise.

1st off your hairs is so cute...& you are a TRIP but you are right I "sho nuff" remember those days lolol...but my take on it is that when we started putting those HARSH CHEMICALS aka CREAM CRACK in our hair it just made our hair worse than when we were lil girls...not saying that mineral oil & petroleum is good because their not BUT those at the time were the worse thing we use so it was like a even kill as long as they took care of our hair like they did...BUT I try not to use them now =)
