A cover version of the second movement of Camels "Song within a song" from the Moonmadness album. Recorded live at a gig on 26th November 1983. I was on keyboards for this particular number, fantastic bunch to play with - good energy!!! However, this particular venue left a lot to be desired - an old church hall in Wigston. Sadly, video cameras were too expensive for most people in 1983, and we were all a little camera shy, the half dozen existing photos were taken by Janes Mum !!

  • This is great! I saw Camel 4 or 5 times in the 70's and this a brilliant cover.

  • Glad you enjoyed it. Prog Rock was our favourite genre, and in some ways its a shame that we aren't playing now as there seems to be a lot more interest. Rgds. Steve H

  • This sounds really good tbh!

Relatively new fan of Camel...never too late i guess :P

  • Great - glad you enjoyed it.

    Hopefully, more to come.

  • Excellent cover! It's one of my favourite songs ever and you've done it proud!

  • Hi, thanks muchly. I have a brilliant midi file of this track to practice against and stay sharp - you never know what the future holds and i might get asked to do a guest spot with The Humps (The Israeli Camel cover band). One of their people subscribed to me a while ago. Rgds Steve H

  • Oh...WOW. This could have been played by Camel them selves! Spot on, just perfect. Definitely my favorite Camel track! If you have any more Camel or just prog covers up your sleeve you should post them on the tube I would enjoy that alot! Cheers

  • It's funny how the guitarist bears a resemblance to Andy Ward. Nevertheless, great cover!

  • Just endorsing what was already said: it's a great version, just like the studio original.

    You guys are really good.

  • Wow! I hope you guys are still performing!
