Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway Steam Gala, 20/9/08

Fantasic Weather conditions for the E&BARs steam gala, visiting the event was LNER D49/1 class 246 'Morayshire' from the Bo'ness and Kinnel Railway, making its first in steam visit south of the border, also in action were Llangollen Railway Resident 0-6-0 Darfield No.1, and Embsay residents Hunslet 'Austerity' Monckton No.1 and BR class 31 Diesel D5600, the class 31 was standing in for NCB 0-6-0 140 which had sufferd a failiure and was brought out for overhaul early(i saw the loco, it looked in a sorry state), in this video we see freight, vintage and MK1 services hauled by all, also near the end it has a Lineside shot of Morayshire on a Vintage working just after leaving Bolton Abbey Station

A fab shot at 2mins of 246 on the Vintage stock mate aswell as Darfield arriving after. The 2:25 arrival was nice. I also liked it at 7:00 where Monckton No.1 and 246 passed! Lovely span at the end of 246 on the Goods and after of Darfield running around.

They should of ran Thomas!

thanks josh, i didn't get why thomas never ran, it is a steam gala after all, yeah the shot of monckton and morayshire was purely by chance, i was like which 1 do i film haha

yeah she was replacing that NCB 140 0-6-0 which was taken outa service for overhaul i belive, it looked at state in embsay shed though, all smokebox door was rusty
