Elvis Presley Lonesome Cowboy
Written by Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett. Elvis recorded it in February 1957 at Radio Recorders. It was featured in his second film, Loving You. It is available on Loving You, Elvis: The Other Sides-Worldwide Gold Award Hits, and The King of Rock n Roll: The Complete 50s Masters.

I am just a lonesome cowboy
And I'm travelling all alone
I ain't even got a nickel
To call my baby on the phone

Just beyond the mountain lies a city
And I hear it calling me
Saddle up and ride you lonesome cowboy
Here is where you'll find your destiny
In my dreams the lights shine bright and pretty
Near to me and yet so far
Will I always be a lonesome cowboy
Am I only reaching for a star

Ride. Ride, ride, cowboy cowboy
Sing, sing, sing, cowboy cowboy

Will I ever leave this lonesome valley
Really see the lights that shine
Gotta find what lies beyond the mountain
Gotta rope and tie that dream of mine

I am just a lonesome cowboy
And I'm travelling all alone
If you don't call me baby
Then I'm never coming home
Then I'm never coming home

  • All of Elvis' music from the 1950's is pure magic. Elvis is the only individual who I've ever heard sing this very tremendous and underrated song. There's no possible way that anyone could sing this gem as well or better than Elvis did. Elvis is the greatest singer, entertainer and phenomenon that the world will ever have. Also, Elvis will always have the greatest voice and the greatest fans by far. I loved this video a whole lot, 10 Stars as always Jackie.

  • In our high school days, we used to sing practically all Elvis' songs . Now in my retirement years, with nostalgic feelings, I still enjoy listening and singing his songs. They bring me back to that stage in my life that I enjoyed most. To me Elvis is a legend.
