Growing up every summer in the 1,000 Islands has been a blessing I never could appreciate in my youth. By college, I had described my Camp in endless stories in school for both essays for class and talking to my friends from Kindergarten to even now. For my final video project before graduating Junior College, my aunt Jill got me on a tour boat to incorporate video in a story about my camp and a small taste of history in sort of a chaotic glimpse of what I enjoy all summer long for the last quarter century in the 1,000 Islands on the St. Lawrence River....

I dedicate this to Mimi & Papa... and all of my family that have made Camp the greatest place on Earth.

  • what island are you on?

    im on grenell.

also that ship is from the Algoma Central Corp.

  • I'm on the mainland.... and what's the Algoma Central Corp? I was lucky to get the shot of the ship before packing up and heading home... some days 10 pass and up until then I hadn't caught one.... But I had to get back to edit my video and narrate it and lay the music all before it was due in two days...

  • have you been 2 the place called prescott?!

  • I'm not sure... I've never heard of it

  • my island is across from urs, im on Murray :)

  • The Algoma Central Corp. is a shipping company, I believe they are Canadian.

google "Know your ships" for more info, its a book with all the great lakes shipping fleets information in it.

they release a new one every year, my grandfather got me into the act of ship watching, we live a mile down the river from Clayton, NY so we see these wonderful vessels all the time.

  • I was born and grew up just across the river from Prescott, Ont. - Ogdensburg, NY. I go back every summer for my river fix....
