Hey Great Idea. Im really stoked to see this is happening. I've done testes myself and have found the booms to be successful at absorbing the oil. However they should be tied together and attached to flotation devices to insure there success. They also seem to work better in calm water and even on shore. Def not to be pulled behind boats as they are still somewhat fragile. Unless maybe in burlap sacks.

Hay and straw do the same thing for soaking up oil.
This is a cheap, quick and looks like an amazingly easy way to clean up the spilled oil. It float's Google. solutionoil Top video

Hay is cool however hay has many other uses.
Human hair once its cut has very few applications so we want to keep it OUT of the waste stream.

People need to sign up to then get an accurate address

Food for thought...I work with special needs kids & we teach them Functional Living Skills. This includes preparing for work buy having them do free work for local companies. Some of that work we take back to the schools and have the kids do there. I could easily see many students being capable of boxing hair or even making hair booms. These guys just love to be helpful. Just another valuable volunteer resource that surrounds you. :)
Thank you for continuing to choose to be the right choice
