@UndergroundStru I'm not either, but think about it. Wherever you grow up, you'll probably develop close relationships with at least some people. Wouldn't it make sense to feel attachment to the places where you grew up with said people? Although as you put it, people are "victim to crime, violence, etc." I think it's admirable that people still "represent their block" because the bonds that they have made are stronger than that which victimizes them

My Dad, was 'born and raised' in Region Park and as far as he's told me it definitly could have been worse, but it for sure was not a nice place to live. Lucky for me, my family moved out of there when I was like 1, so I don't remember shit about it.
But this song isn't try to brag about hard their life was, its simply trying to explress the feeling of struggle we all go through, no matter where your happen to be from.
