Animation of a historic coal mine in Essen/Germany. The site is now an UNESCO World heritage.
Essen is located in the Ruhr-District, which is one of the European Capitals of Culture in 2010.
This animation was made in 1994 and designed as the "visions of the architects" Fritz Schupp and Martin Kemmer. It was build in 1928 to 1932 on the base on Bauhaus concepts. The production was abandoned in 1986. Look on www.zollverein.de for more informations.
The main score is a rare contemporary record with the Orchestra of the Berliner Staatsoper directed by Otto Klemperer

Aber nicht im Jahre 1932
Allerdings waren
die Buchstaben damals lt. Prof. Borsdorf nicht dick, sondern flaches Blech.
