Developers love to sneak things by us, and the best possible way to do so is in trailers. Even in small teasers there can be countless hints towards possible gameplay mechanics, story reveals, and other subtleties. Often, to find them all, you need to go frame by frame, looking everywhere for everything. Its a bit of a pain, so we decided to take that strain off of you. That's the concept behind Frame by Frame.

Mechwarrior is a storied franchise that has long been in need of a roboot. The first trailer has some other interesting bits of information inside. Check it out.

  • Looks cool, is this just a pc game?

  • It is unofficially announced for the 360 and PC, but there is always the chance it will land on other systems.

  • dont you mean the other system...the ps3..no point in saying systems because i doubt it will be ported to the wii

  • Maybe not a direct port...but there is always the chance that the expand the Mechwarrior system out to the other systems (Wii, PSP, DS, etc.)

    -Paul

  • I agree, though, most likely just a PS3 port.

  • Personally, I do not think it should have any outside of mech play, but ejections should have some gameplay concequences, such as whether or not you keep any saved files.

  • Well this is confirmed for PC, where the Mechwarrior games belong and function best. It will most likely come out for other systems but I will still just get it for PC. Unless it can play on 360 with the Steel Battalion controler then I might look into gettin a 360 and the special controler. I have a friend who managed to map the Steel Battailon controler for MW4:Mercs.

  • is this for real of just a cg movie

  • I'm holding my breath that they don't dumb anything down, and keep it closer to the original simulation-type gameplay. If they fuck it up and make some garbage like Mechassault 1 & 2 were, I'm gonna be pissed.

Personally I think they should stay as far away from console ports as possible, and keep it strictly PC like Mechwarrior should be played.

  • Great video, i didn't notice some of that smaller stuff.

  • You guy's missed the fact that you can see the guns heat up and cool down;)

  • CANT WAIT CANT WAIT CANT WAIT:d::d

  • Considering that the second Mechwarrior game was on a Sony console as well as the PC, perhaps there is a higher chance for a port than we might think? Either way, this looks like one of those games that puts purchasing a 360 higher on my to-do list...
