  • I'll never forget when and how I met Natalie Merchant. I was renovating a Lee's Famous Recipe chicken joint that had been abandoned for 4 years in the West End of Hartford, CT into "The Cosmic Bean" coffeehouse and my helper and I were listenijng to Kenny Wayne Shepherd full blast while Natalie was eating outside next door at Reader's Feast Cafe...she came over and said something to the effect: "can you turn your music the fuck down please" I did. What an honor to be chastised by Natalie....

  • "Oh I, can't believe, I've lost the very best of me" I can't help but cry thinking about my grandparents when I hear this song. 57 years married when my Grandmother died and my Grandfather was lost without here. Such a great love, I miss them both very much and hope that they are happy again together.

  • This song always makes me cry- it reminds me of my parents.

  • i missing my beloved wife so much xxx

  • How I miss the beauty of the marriage that my beloved mother and father had together. It was so pure, so true. I have modeled all of my relationships upon the fortune of seeing how a marriage between husband and wife should be and I will forever long for that. How did they do it? I say, without both people wanting that depth, there can be know bond.

  • How I miss my beloved wife, and my 12 year old son his beloved mother. The song touches my heart deeply. We miss you, Deb.

  • @jest2525 Well then you my friend rock my socks :D

  • @AngelicPhantom - I'm 33 years there!

  • I hear this song and I want to that wife, that "beloved wife", as my grandmother and mother were. I don't know about race, hell, I don't care, because love has no color, no race, no prejudice, it just...is. I want it as it is expressed here, as my parents and grandparents have shown me it could be. At 42, I've nearly given up, but, this song says it can be. Thanks, Natalie.
