バルンバ PCエンジン/ Barunba pc engine

People pass this game off as a sequel to Ordyne. Barunba has a rotary aim system a la Forgotten Worlds, but it kinda hurts the controls if you play on the standard two button PCE controller.
It may be entirely in side view, but it also scrolls vertically and diagonally, so you get that laid-back sense of cruising while you play.

That's pretty cool, I'd never heard about this game or quite seen a rotary ship turret on a 2d shump like that before. Nice find!

Yes. Talking about multiple scrolling shmups, let's not forget about Zero Gunner 2 for the Dreamcast.

I always found the first level in this game to remind me a lot like a certain level in Kid Chameleon. Anyone else ever notice this?

This game is a little on the average side of good, especially considering it was Namco (look at Ordyne and Dragon Spirit). Of course Namco didn't code most of these themselves, so...

Loved the manual as I did for all the Nmco PCE titles, but the game... lacking.

Just finished it recently; don't expect much from the ending!
