Actually I couldn't disagree more - I saw them warm up for U2 in Foxboro in September and I was FAR more impressed than the first listen of Hundred Million Suns.

Probably. The smell of flowers is a good example. Let's say you grew up in a place filled with lavender bushes, then lavender will always remind you of your childhood whenever you smell it. This works on many many degrees. Even sexual acts can cause sudden recall. I used to know a man who would always cry after making love because it somehow reminded him of his two children and his wife killed in nazi execution camps. The human brain is such a weird thing huh
