Wal-Mart and Lowe's are making some big power moves in the Asheville area. Here is their new North location (Weaverville Wal-Mart), almost completed, with many companies working on it. I love to see the different companies and teams come together. Bumped into Haynes Electric, Progress Energy, Taylor Murphy, etc. DanBel inspired me for this video update, thanks! and he also mentioned that the main area Wal-Mart in East Asheville is about to build an addition. I guess they are doing their research too, and know where Asheville is headed... BIG!!!

  • Sorry B. With development, people always have to move on etc. I know several people who had to move out of an area because it got too expensive. Hope you planted somewhere else good.

  • lowes officially opens FRIDAY!

  • I got some video of the inside today Dan!

  • Im glad this is in Weaverville, the group Weaverville First now has members of their group applying for jobs there now.

This is welcome with open arms - the people needs jobs.

I request that Weaverville first state they were wrong. I think their is a list of members of this group - so lets see how long it will be before they show up at WalMart & Lowes.

Next, lets get a great place to have dinner - they can go with the North Star Dinner...

  • Haha, so so true. People are just scared to death of change, even if the big picture is great.

  • Yes indeed. And when it opens it will be the Weaverville Wal-Mart (not the "North Asheville" Wal-Mart).

  • Roses is a junk store and Ingles is over priced. So yes, they may have food and clothes but who wants or needs them, when there is better out there. Time to move on.

  • Thank you for the apologies. Even though it's not your fault and you had nothing to do with it. But yeah, I disagreed and we tried to fight it, but things are not always fair. Im sorry for the people who had to move out because of expences. No matter what we have been through, we have to remember that there is always someone else that is going through something worse.

  • I understand those were your homes BUT some of them were just plain eyesores, it is the gods honest truth. U have to understand that other than that its a good thing because it provides us with more jobs (low paying or not). And since it was beside the interstate, just like the sayles bleachery in asheville HUGE eyesore!!! This will bring more people to the streets of downtown weaverville and bring the tax base UP.

  • very good
